We recognise University is not always suitable for everybody and with youth unemployment on the rise, Apprenticeship programmes can provide young people with the knowledge, skills and experiences for an exciting future.

JLR has two types of apprenticeship on offer. The end points and duration of both are different, and so are a result are the entry requirements. The Advanced Apprenticeship has an entry requirement of GCSEs (or an appropriate Level 3 qualification of 60+ credits), the Higher Apprenticeships has an entry requirement of 2x A-levels in specific areas in addition (or an appropriate Level 3 qualification of 90+ credits).

On completion of the training, apprentices will go on to fulfil roles in a variety of roles in manufacturing, product development and other areas around the business across JLR’s West Midlands and North West sites. The Employment and Disability Service (EADS) is the specialist supported employment team within Olympus Care Services Ltd (OCS). We provide a wide range of support, information, advice and guidance to employers and adults with disabilities across Leicestershire and Northamptonshire.
 

We aspire to provide the best possible service to every individual we support and strongly believe that it is our role to promote their independence and respect the decisions they make. Our aim is to do everything we can to make our customers aspirations a reality. 

EADS exists to support people with disabilities and complex barriers to work to gain and sustain paid employment. We are a team of 28 delivering personalised support to around 700 people each year and are fiercely proud of our success. 

Around 350 of our clients are in paid employment and almost all are with different employers. We support our employers to navigate the world of supported employment and work with their staff who have different needs. In addition to this we offer bespoke and condition specific training, job coaching, advice, guidance and resources and……….it’s all free!! 

As a small team we believe in punching above our weight and use many different channels to ensure we highlight the issues and shape the debate around supported employment.

Print CT Skills have training centres in Leicester, Nottingham and Derby, and have helped many people get into the career they want. Our Leicester centre offers programmes in Health and Social Care and Functional Skills, as well as Childcare for those ages 16, 17 and 18. The hub provides a number of services for young people and employers to encourage the growth of apprenticeship opportunities and to increase the number of young people becoming apprentices.

The hub provides information, advice and guidance to assist young people with finding vacancies, making successful applications, and improving their work readiness. Young people can also register through the website to receive latest information on vacancies and events they may be interested in.

New apprenticeship opportunities and events offered through the hub and local training providers are updated on our website each week.

The hub also supports employers find the right apprenticeship framework and training provider, will assist in recruitment, and importantly provides up to £1,500 to employers in the form of the Leicester Apprenticeship Grant.
